Vision

As Soldiers and their families cope with ongoing deployments, the need for emotional and spiritual healing is greater than ever. In the absence of war, the heroes of former conflicts often carry the scars and price they paid for freedom and democracy. In today's society many of these individuals are identified as having post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Reflections of Generosity offers a way for society to deal with issues faced during and after war.

Reflections of Generosity (RoG) is a worldwide collaboration of artists. Through international creative networking artists both within and outside the military are encouraged to come together and face the realities of conflicts. Soldiers who join the network realize they are not alone. Hope is renewed beyond thoughts of suicide. In times of low morale, Soldiers find courage. When enduring many days without their families, they do not give in to fear. Instead, through the creative support rallied by Reflections of Generosity artists and patrons, Soldiers and their families find courage and hope across battlefields around the world.

Each year Reflections of Generosity organizes nonprofit art exhibits, which are affiliated with the International Arts Movement and U.S. Army Family & FMWR. The central purpose of the RoG movement is to provide audiences and participants opportunities for remembrance and hope beyond the pain of recent tragedy. Reflections of Generosity is about the power of the arts (painting, sculpture, theater, dance, written works, and music) to facilitate restoration through generosity, community, and beauty.

Daily we are guided by the realization that the world is not as it ought to be. Art is a universal language that allows us to respond to the questions about the emotional and physical costs of war and peace. The creative answers we find help troops and civilians find understanding and draw inspiration from sacrifices. Through asking the question “why war” or “where is peace”, we ultimately find ourselves drawn to ask “what does it mean to truly be human.”

Mission:

Reflections of Generosity uses international creative networking to establish connections between Soldiers, artists, and patrons in order to find ways to cope with the emotional and spiritual scars of war and tragedies toward restoration and peace.

Values:

We value the service and sacrifice that international heroes voluntarily offer the world. In the shadows of war, we create artwork and performances that reflect the spirit of ongoing generosity demonstrated by the military.

Thus, Reflections of Generosity represents the values of Voluntary Service, Personal Sacrifice, Creative Thinking, Reflective Performances, and Generous Giving
